About this project.
A tool built around one simple idea. You should be able to use your own data without giving away your account or your privacy.
Why unfollowz exists
Most apps that show who doesn’t follow you back ask you to log in with Instagram. Many of them end up having full access to your account, messages, or personal information. unfollowz only usesthe data that Meta lets you officially download.
My view on privacy
I believe you should be able to use tools on the internet without giving away your password or blindly trusting third-party apps. Your data belongs to you. That’s why unfollowz runs completely in your browser and doesn’t need servers to process your information.
Open Source and transparency
The project is Open Source because I want anyone to be able to review how it works. There’s no hidden and weird tracking, or things happening in the background. If a tool handles personal data, it should be transparent about what it does.
Keeping it simple
unfollowz is not trying to be a social network or a platform with many features. It does one thing: compare lists to show who doesn’t follow you back.
About the developer
My name is Natanael, I’m from Argentina and I’m a software engineer. I created unfollowz as a simple, transparent project focused on privacy. I enjoy building useful tools that are easy to understand and respect people’s data.
If an app asks for your password, you should probably think twice.
